    Windows 95 Migration & Support - Fortune 100 Company at various offices in Cincinnati, OH

·          Migrated and Supported Windows 3.1 to Windows 95 effort. Responsible for over 500 users out of a team total of 30,000. This included connecting workstations to a Novell Netware 3.12 laptop server, backing up the data to the laptop server, upgrading the workstation to Windows 95 through the Novell Netware network, then restoring the workstation data from the laptop server back to the workstation.

·          One on one technical training to team members. This included training team members on Windows 95 migrations, using the Novell Netware 3.12 laptop server, etc.

·          Supported desk side software on Windows 95 workstations in a Novell Netware 4.11& NT Server 4.0 environment. This consisted of application installation, configuration, and support, such as MS Office 95, CC Mail, Reflection v1/v4, SAP R3 3.0D/3.0F, etc.

Hardware/Software Support, LAN Administration & Client Training - Fortune 100 Company at a 450 user Manufacturing Plant in Greenville, NC

·          LAN administration/support including Novell Netware 4.11, Windows NT Server 4.0, HP OpenView Desktop Administrator, HP Download Manager, & Compaq Insight Manager. The Netware 4.11 administration included creating and modifying properties of Users, Groups, Printers/Print Queues/Print Servers, moving users to another Context, setting up IP addresses in DHCP CONFIG with RCONSOLE.EXE, monitoring the status of Print Jobs and deleting Print Jobs with PCONSOLE.EXE, etc. The Windows NT Server 4.0 administration included creating and modifying properties of Users, Groups, Printers, using Disk Administrator, Performance Monitor, etc. Monitored servers for hardware problems with Compaq Insight Manager.

·          Installed and configured HP OpenView Desktop Administrator 4.03 on a Windows NT 4.0 Workstation. Created software distribution jobs with HP OpenView Desktop Administrator and targeted users for remote software installation and upgrades.

·          Upgraded firmware of Jet Direct Cards for specific network printers with HP Download Manager. Created and configured new devices/printers from their MAC addresses and reset Jet Direct Cards with HP Jet Admin.

·          Performed desktop, laptop, printer, and server hardware support. This included break and fix support, running diagnostic utilities, configuration, etc. Replaced desktop, laptop, and server system boards, hard drives, power supplies, memory, SCSI devices, network cards, CD ROM drives, floppy drives, etc. Replaced rollers, fusing assemblies, paper feed assemblies, output rollers, exhaust fans, power supply assemblies, etc. on HP Laser Jet and Desk Jet printers.

·          Performed one on one client training on a standardized Windows 95 workstation. This included remote LAN access training, Lotus Notes, accessing network resources, etc.

·          Coordinated phone and desk side software support on Windows 95 workstations in a Novell Netware 4.11 environment & Windows NT 4.0 workstations in an NT Server 4.0 environment. This consisted of application installation, configuration, and support, such as MS Office 95/2000, Lotus Notes, CC Mail, Reflection v1/v4, SAP R3 3.0D/3.0F, etc.

·          Installed Windows 95 & NT workstation 4.0 images from the network and configured workstations with specific profiles. This also included fixing network connectivity problems on desktops/laptops, which typically used the NetBEUI, IPX/SPX, Client for Netware Networks, Client for Microsoft Networks, and the TCP/IP protocols. Tracked and updated open calls/tickets in an MS Access Database.

·          Managed the Global deployment (Beta & Production) of over 300 applications using Electronic Software Distribution. This included risk assessment and troubleshooting deployment issues.

·          Created and tested over 300 software distribution jobs using HP OpenView Desktop Administrator.  This included different types of installation & upgrade distribution jobs, which check for free disk space, check for the existence of the applications, install pre-requisites, etc.

·          Tested over 300 WinInstall application installation/upgrade packages (.DAT, .INI, .REG files, etc.)

·          Created technical documentation, including software testing procedures and standard processes.

·          Performed one on one technical training to team members. This includes creating/testing HP OpenView Desktop Administrator software distribution jobs, testing WinInstall install/upgrade packages, workflow process, etc.
